old loving couple in the love boat (crochet dolls)

we shall brave the storms and rains together...

We shall share the joy and hardships in the same boat, and when the most ferocious storms and rains are past, we shall be left with nothing but joy, peace, and serenity. We will recount the moments together, and take our love boat out on a scenic ride, where nothing in the world matters anymore, because there are just you and I.

endless of sweet nothings to whisper into your ears...
grandpa and grandma with their love boat

Grandma still whisper sweet nothings into grandpa’s ears despite the many years have passed.

nothing beats a loving life companion
we shall remain loving till the end..

Nothing beats having a loving life companion till the end of time. Although youth may have been long gone, the hearts of the loving people remain the same as they first fell in love with each other.

I have planned to work on this pair of loving old couple for more than a year now. I have finally made it to the point to do this, there is a Chinese proverb that I find perfectly suitable to be used on them:

In the most plain and direct translation, it would mean staying in the same boat regardless of wind (or storm) or rains. It really means sharing hardships together.

I used to collect old couple figurines in the past, made of different materials. For those who have been following my blog for a bit now, you will know that I am a worshipper of fairy tales. However, if ‘happily ever after’ is too far-fetched in this reality, being able to grow old together with your life companion, is probably the next best romantic thing that could ever happen.

Many a times, couples are able to reap on the fruit of success, yet unable to sustain the relationship when the storms arrive. Perhaps, I am always hopeful that every marriage lasts till the end, and every vow of love remains true as it was made.

With this design, I wish all love and friendship last forever.

Liz, I love this old couple story. Can I do one similar but a young couple:- and the “bond” is a telephone. As me and Oliver started with being on-phone. (a phone instead of a boat, and young instead of old). for the sketching… can view our pictures to see what are the distinctive traits and features so that our dolls looks like us.

Do let me know the cost for this.

    thanks dear!

sorry, this went in to the spam, and I forgot to check through the spam folder.

All in progress now, for now, we will just have to wait and see the end result. I am hyper excited though.
