share some love with didis (charity project)

spread the love

see no evil
hear no evil
speak no evil

This is one of the projects that I have been talking for a while now. This is named ‘share some love’.

As the name suggests, you may have guessed that this new ‘share some love’ section is specially created for charity purpose. This is a sub-category under the ‘perks.others’ main category.

The Chinese believes in retribution, and the good begets good. We believe in 积福 – accumulating blessing, simply put, performing act of kindness to accumulate blessing for ourselves, younger generations, or just plain human kind.

Personally? I don’t know anything about retribution, I think it’d be good to believe there is retribution so that people are deterred to do evil. However, I do believe in doing good, it may not return to me in the same kindness, but all things come in full circle eventually.

There are still a bunch of people needing charity aid from us, this is especially so in this trying economic situation. (I am talking about real needs, please don’t start sending me sob letters for freebies, none of my products belong to the basic needs, so if you already meet the basic needs, I can’t satisfy your needs more, because my business is my main revenue to sustain my basic needs)

Sales has been generally slower for most of the sellers, but we can still choose to do our part to contribute our efforts towards the needing community. For now, I am opening up this section specially for the charity purpose. All proceeds will go to an appointed charitable organization, and at present, we are contributing to World Vision Singapore

I have summoned all my courage hidden in the deepest corners, to pick up knitting again. (Oh yes, I knitted, and made the grave mistake of knitting up a sweater as my first project, I completed it, and chucked the knitting needles aside and later tossed in the bin when I moved to the present apartment) I may not have more money to donate, but I can always contribute in an alternative way. I don’t want to make empty promises, but I hope I succeed in relearning the long forgotten skill and see what good can I do from there.

Now, the dolls listed in this section, is made exclusively for this purpose. There will be no customization options, no further discount for the purchase. I won’t keep a cent from the sale, all earnings from this sale (less shipping) will be donated to the charity via the bank transfer donation option offered by the WVS.
