I have been working on the tissue cozies (note: plural!). Tissue cozy is probably among the first projects I did when I first started out with the crochet craft. I was 8 years old then, introverted, already showed great potential of the making of a super hermit, and here I am today, still crocheting, still an introvert, and definitely a hermit!
I decide to revisit and refresh the love (not that I don’t love it more now) I have for this craft, and work on the tissue cozy, only that I have improvised on the design. The ones I made when I was 8 years old would be way too ‘vintage’ and might not suit the today’s lifestyle. (there was lots of frills tied up to form a flower shape on the top where the tissue pulls out from, and more frills on the bottom)
The new design now, is simpler, and the lacy trimmings by the sides add a soft touch and elegance to the entire presentation.
Adorn it with our crochet dolls, you now have a story to tell.
Let me tell you a little story of my own. I suspect that I have a mild OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder) condition, this is further ‘enhanced’ when I worked in a surgeon’s office some years back. I actually stocked up boxes of my own tissue paper in the office, and wet tissues too.
If you are like me, who would take some time to doll up your workstation, wouldn’t it be lovely to brighten up your workspace with this cozy, and be greeted every day by the adorable dolls?
Wouldn’t this be lovely to have on your office desk?
Orange has a magical effect on me, like the sun (just a metaphor, we surely don’t need more heat around here though), it signifies bright cheery mood, vibrant energy of life, and just a happy color!
Variegated color yarns are also the earliest yarns I used when I started out with crocheting. The fun of using variegated color yarn is that I kind of look forward to the next stitch, then the next stitch, and the next… because I look forward to the change of color.
I figured that Papa Kenny bear would be happy to guard the tissue for the owner, while constantly keeping a happy smiley face all day long.
Blue is said to be a color representing ‘Peace’. I can’t deny that blue is one of the easiest color to use in various areas. It’s one of the easily accepted colors.
I am using this set of dolls to illustrate how the tissue cozy may be further dolled up with cuteness. Imagine you have a love story to share, and you get to tell the guests who visit your home (or anywhere you are planning to place the cozy) every time.
Purple is more of an exotic and passion color. Purple somewhat gives me the impression of a bolder personality and someone who dares to live out loud.
The doll is sold separately. The tissue cozy is available in various colors in the webstore now!
