I love everything pretty, and I mean EVERYTHING. I am currently using a pair of vintage scissors (remake, that is) to snip the ends of yarn off. It works well; it may not necessarily be more effective as compared to the one dollar scissors from the thrift stores, but it is definitely more pleasing to the eyes.
I don’t know about you, but I am ‘accused’ (guilty as charged) of being a perfectionist. I am neither proud or ashamed of it, it just is. I translate that into the fact that I enjoy making pretty things, simply because I appreciate nice things in life.
My sister tells people (since we were children) that I said pretty mugs and dishes make the drink and food taste better. I am superficial like that. Food, is not all about tastebuds for me, the ambience and visual must be satisfied first. With a happier mood, food naturally tastes better.
I thought I posted the buying link somewhere, but I couldn’t find it now. A friend asked on facebook last night, so I thought I would post it again.
I bought it here, and if you are not located in the Asia region, do request for the seller to list it on the global site, that should then work for you.
Tip: The seller is relatively new to selling, do drop a friendly reminder at checkout for bubble wrap – mine arrive with pierced envelope as the scissors was not protected at all; I was lucky that it was not delayed or detained due to that.
This should make very nice gift to your crafting friends too! I have heard about not sending scissors as gift, but I honestly don’t care about that. We have a bunch of ‘not-to-send’ in the Chinese community, such as the partner should never gift shoes as it encourages the recipient to ‘run away’; another is not to gift clock, as ‘give clock’ means ‘seeing a person off after he/she dies’ – literal translation. It’s a fun list of ridicules, but some people do take offend, so do find out if the recipient is superstitious about such gifting meanings.
P/S: I am in the midst of working on the last design of ring bearers (yes, you heard me!), and the patterns should be up, hopefully before 2013 arrives. 😉
